Introduction

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), allows you to create a section of the AWS Cloud that is logically isolated. This section can be used to launch AWS resources in a virtual environment you design. You have full control over your virtual networking environment. This includes the creation of subnets and selection of IP addresses.

For secure and easy access, you can use IPv4 or IPv6 in your VPC.

You can easily modify the network configuration of Amazon VPC. You can create a public-facing network for your web servers that has access to the internet.

You can also place your backend systems (such as databases and application servers) in a private subnet without internet access. Multiple layers of security can be used, including network access control lists and security groups, to control access to Amazon EC2 instances within each subnet.
