Course Description

Illustrator is a great program for creating vector graphics such as icons and logos. However, Illustrator is primarily an illustration program. After preparing the Illustrator file, we will begin by learning how to block out shadows and black shapes. We will also learn about the importance of tools such as the pencil, blob brush, and pen tool. Blends, a powerful Illustrator feature that allows us to soften transitions between black and white values in our sketch, will be used to simplify the sketch. This tutorial will help you get started with blends. We'll be using them to create cross-hatching and simple hatching patterns. This tutorial will give you a good idea how to create a film noir-styled illustration in Adobe Illustrator.
