Course Description

This course traces the evolution of networks, and identifies the key concepts and functions that are the foundation for layer architecture. Students will be familiar with the various protocols and services we present, as well as how they are supported by networks. We also explain the fundamental concepts of digital communication and we focus on error control techniques such as parity check, polynomial codes, and Internet checksum. The students will need to have programming experience in C++/Java, some basic knowledge of IT architecture and organization.
