The best indicator of greater success is not economic growth. The global population could reach 10 billion by 2050 and there may be an environmental crisis. To thrive and not survive into the next century, it will take new tools and ways of thinking. This will allow us to address the current challenges and create a prosperous and successful future. This course will examine other ways to define success in society and how we can aim for greater prosperity on both a personal as well as global level.

Gain an understanding of new approaches to measurement of success

Gain an understanding of the origin of GDP and the context from which it emerged

Justify the need for a re-examination of the way we look at economics, and the role it plays in guiding society
