Course Description

Kinesis Data Analytics is part of the Kinesis streaming platform, along with Kinesis Data Streams and Kinesis Data Firehose. Kinesis Video streams are also included in this course. Handling Streaming Data With AWS Kinesis Data Analytics Using Java will teach you how to use live Twitter feeds to stream real-time data. To access the Twitter streaming API, you will first create a developer account. Next, you will write code to access the tweets as streaming messages. Finally, you'll publish them to Kinesis Data Streams. This can be used to generate streaming data for Kinesis Data Analytics. These applications will be deployed using both the web console and the command line. You'll set up the right permissions, and configure these applications to use cloud monitoring and logging, and see how you can use log messages to debug errors in your applications. Finally, you'll perform a number of different processing operations on streaming tweets, windowing operations using tumbling and sliding windows. Global windows will be applied using count triggers and continuous-time triggers. This course will teach you how to implement join operations, create branching pipelines, and sink some results to DynamoDB.
