Course Description

How to create social networks, economic networks and how they impact human behavior. What is the structure of networks? How does it form and why are they structured in certain ways? To answer these questions, we will combine models from sociology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, and math to create models. We will then cover various models that describe how networks are formed, such as random and strategic network models. Some hybrids may also be covered. Next, we will discuss several models that show how networks affect behavior such as contagion and diffusion, learning, peer influence, and learning.
