Anand Agricultural University is a state public university established by the Government of Gujarat, Act No.(Guj 5 of 2004) in the year 2004. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is also known as AAU Anand. The varsity is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The campus of the university is spread over an area of 63 acres and it has 454 faculty members in total.
