A food safety specialist, commonly known as a "food inspector," is responsible for assessing and monitoring food quality and safety for the public. These specialists may work in a variety of environments, including food labs, offices, restaurants, grocery stores, and places where food is manufactured.Applicants are generally required to have a bachelor’s degree in food sciences or a related field, and some positions may require a master’s degree.
