Group account directors are responsible for heading the accounting team of a corporation, or serve as a Chief Officer in charge of managing all accounts and accountants for a business. The main task of those in this position is to manage (and make profitable) all of their company's accounts, and completing this task requires excellent management and accounting skills.Many companies expect the group accounting director to oversee the development of all accountants in the department, as well.
