Volunteer coordinators act as liaisons and oversee the volunteer (and sometimes intern) activity for non-profit organizations. They handle the on-boarding (and letting go of) new volunteers. As such, they recruit, train, place and supervise volunteers. When they receive new recruits, they administer training sessions, informational materials, and answer questions regarding volunteer placement.Volunteer coordinators also often deal with all of the paperwork that's necessary when documenting volunteer activities. They may log the number of volunteers at any location, the number of volunteer hours, handle time sheets, forms that the volunteers must sign, and more.
