Artistic directors generally work with theaters, but are also hired by other organizations. The ideal applicant should have a Bachelor's degree in a theatrical discipline and previous experience in the field. Some companies and organizations may require knowledge of Microsoft Office, though most do not.Work is primarily carried out indoors, although occasional outdoor activity is possible. It is important that the artistic director can communicate well with co-workers, as they will be supervising a group of employees and actors/models for various roles.
