National sales representatives are responsible for selling product or services on behalf of their company on a national scale. They are in charge of increasing sales figures by finding new customers and demonstrating product and/or service value. National sales representatives must be able to explain technical characteristics of products to a general audience, as well as use a personal computer to keep accurate records of sales and interactions with existing and prospective clients. They generally report their progress to the national sales supervisor within their organization.They develop and execute effective sales and marketing plans based on sales requirements.
