Security analysts should be experienced in cybersecurity and able to succeed in a fast-paced, constantly-changing work environment, as security analysts work to maintain the integrity of company networks, as well as diagnose and quickly resolve network problems as they arise. They must be able to proactively identify risks to the network and promptly address and neutralize these threats, and knowledge of security log fundamentals is essential. Prior experience with escalation patterns, hardening systems, firewalls, anti-virus, anti-spam, secure electronic data transmission, and anti-malware is also important.Applicants should have experience with intrusion detection and prevention, network troubleshooting fundamentals, operating systems skills, and information gathering and analysis, and familiarity with audit compliance initiatives and frameworks, which may include PCI-DSS, FFIEC, and GLBA, is also necessary. They must be familiar with risk management and business risk policies and knowledgeable of data security practices, including encryption/decryption and management, and they may be called upon to recommend changes in procedures and policies. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple levels of management and associate-level employees are also important.A bachelor’s degree or higher and at least one year of relevant experience in computer science or electrical engineering are generally required for this position, and knowledge of and experience with Windows- and Linux-based systems is essential. Extensive experience with Microsoft platforms, including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel, is also required.
