Course Description

This series of tutorials will cover Maya and ZBrush and how to work on assets using multiple applications. In this case, ZBrush and Maya. To create the base geometry of an alien orb, we'll use Maya's modeling tools. Next, we will import our geometry into ZBrush to begin detailing it. To create initial surface detail, we'll use deformation and masking. Then we'll finish it off with a variety of brushes. To quickly add detail, we'll also be able to use radialsymmetry. The next step is to add new geometry to ZBrush using Maya. Finally, we'll create our gem from scratch with a ZBrush primitive. After the sculpting is complete, we will create a UV layout, normal maps, and an output color. We'll then reassemble everything in Maya to finish this Maya/ZBrush training. Software required: ZBrush 4R6, Maya 2015.

What You Will Learn

Learn to use radial symmetry to quickly add detail

Once the sculpting is done, we'll create a UV layout and output color and normal maps

Software required ZBrush 4R6, Maya 2015

To finish up this Maya and ZBrush training, we'll reassemble everything in Maya

We'll then take a look at adding new geometry from Maya in the middle of our ZBrush project and create our gem from scratch using a ZBrush primitive
