Course Description

This tutorial will show you how to create a post-apocalyptic shot. With our matte painting asset, we will create an environment scene within NUKE's 3D space. We will use NUKE's particle system to create atmospherics and add footage to the shot to bring it to life. We will briefly explore After Effects in order to use the Optical Flares plugin to create lens flare elements. We'll also be discussing camera effects such as bloom, lens distortion and vignette. We will also discuss tips to finish off your shot. This tutorial will cover basic compositing workflows and provide tips and tricks to help you create a shot that is both environment- or set-extension-ready. Software requirements: NUKEX 7.0V6, After Effects CS5, Optical Flares plug-in.
