Course Description

This tutorial will show you how to create interaction between live action footage and a CG environment. This course will show you how to create a shot where the live action footage interacts well with the CG scene. Let's start by matchingmoving our footage using PFTrack. We then look at how to solve multiple matchmoves. We then combine them in Maya for a visual effects sequence. The solved camera is then imported into Maya, where proxy geometry for the live-action hand and prop turntable are created. Other topics include animating, lighting with final gather and HDRI and UV mapping, displacement mapping and rendering many render passes. Then we jump into After Effects, where we'll be creating the final result using a linear workflow. Software Required: PFTrack 5, Maya 2013, After Effects, CS5.

What You Will Learn

Many other things are covered such as animating, lighting using final gather and hdri, uv mapping, displacement mapping, and rendering out many render passes

Software required pftrack 5, maya 2013, after effects cs5

Then, we combine them in maya to be part of a visual effects sequence

This course goes through the entire process, in real time, of creating a shot in which the live action footage interacts with our cg scene

We start out by matchmoving our footage in pftrack and take a look at how we can easily solve multiple matchmoves

We then jump over into after effects where we will be compositing 17 different render passes to create the final result in a linear workflow

We then take the solved camera into maya where proxy geometry is created for the live action hand and prop turntable

We will explore how to create interaction between our live action footage and cg environment
