Course Description

This course explains why primary care is so important for Health for All. This course demonstrates how primary care can be used to achieve this goal in select populations. It also explains how future policies and actions can be guided by the principles of primary care.

"Health for All" is one of the most inspirational, yet most misunderstood, terms in global health discourse. We will also explore their meanings and principles, as well as examples of how they have been applied at small and large scales. We will also look at some low-cost ways to achieve Health for All by using primary health care.

Each module of the course is approximately 1 hour long and includes approximately one hour of lecture, one hour of additional readings and video presentations. Two additional hours are spent studying for the quizzes and writing and evaluating two short peer review assignments. The discussion forums are also included.

This was developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Open Education Lab.
