Course Description

Matt Stine, a software architect veteran, explains the history and uses of pattern languages to communicate about software architectures. He presents a pattern language that is specifically suited to cloud architecture, the Brick and Mortar Pattern Language. He also examines the three metaphors behind its creation: the LEGO(r), Building System, interchangeable pieces, and cellular organic system.

Matt Stine is a 17-year veteran in the enterprise software industry and hosts "Software Architecture Radio," a podcast where practitioners share their knowledge about modern software patterns and practices. A sought-after conference speaker (SACON and JavaOne, OSCON, and YOW! Matt is the author of the O'Reilly title Migrating To Cloud-Native Application Architectures. He also works as a technical product manager at Cloud Foundry and Spring at Pivotal. He also serves as the technical editor for NFJS, the Magazine.
