Course Description

Learn the basics of Irish language

This course is for you if you have always wanted to learn Irish. You will learn the basics of Irish including greetings, introductions and numbers.

You'll be able to understand the cultural significance and origins of one of Europe's oldest literary languages by the time you're done.

Learn more about the history of the Irish language

Ireland is home to a unique language as well as a vibrant Gaelic culture.

This course will show you how Irish people took inspiration from nature to create their unique alphabet and script. You'll learn about the history of Ogham and how the Irish alphabet was created.

Engage in Irish culture through language

You'll also learn the basics of the language and explore Ireland's rich culture, including dance, Gaelic games music, storytelling, and literature. You'll get a better understanding of Ireland's language and the people who use it.

You'll also learn more about the Gaeltachtai, which is where Irish is the main language of communication.

Improve your Irish pronunciation

This course will help you to learn the basics of Irish pronunciation. You'll be able to look at Irish blessings and curses as well as some of the naming conventions that are used in the language.
