Course Description

You will all be able to create a series Bible and complete a pilot episode for your unique TV or web series. The creative process is broken down into parts, which allows you all to create a structure that will allow you to quickly produce a pitch-ready script. This project will boost your self-confidence and make you feel ready to pitch your scripts and start on the next.

The course is designed to stimulate your creative side and is built on "Active Learning". The majority of learning happens in your own actions, which is writing. Learning is by doing.

Thank you for the direct and professional way that you taught this class. We were able to all creatively express ourselves and create our own voices in our writings and scripts. I found this aspect to be very valuable." Ingrid

It is easy to follow the course syllabus: You all write, you revise and then share your feedback with each other.

Experiential learning (active learning) is what I believe in. I make my lectures short, sometimes only two minutes. They are concise and straight to the point. Although I can guide you, I cannot show you how to write. Writing is the best way to be a writer.

This course was taught by David in a very inspiring lecture format. They are concise and entertaining. Davida's genuine desire to help me create truly extraordinary things is evident in the videos. Davidas is showing us how to create a script. He's giving us the wisdom and tools, not just by talking at us.

Here's what you need to do:

Any basic word processor should work. You have two options during week 2. Either you download a free script writing software like Celtx, Trelby, or you could choose to buy Final Draft. Or you can use your existing word processor to create your scripts.

Student Review: I am in love this course. I was a novice at writing scripts or substantive fiction, and I came up with an idea that I now believe in. David is a great storyteller and his guidance is excellent. You only have to take what he has given you, figure it out, then WRITE. WRITE! WRITE! "

Coursera has a privacy policy that protects learner IP. You are the only owner of the work.

Project-Centered courses: These are a project-centered courses. This means that the course is focused on helping you to complete an individual meaningful, real-world project. Your instructor, along with a group of other learners, will provide guidance and support. You will learn more quickly if you apply the concepts you have learned. This will also give you a jump start in using the skills that you've acquired to improve your career and life. You'll be proud of the final product when you finish this course.
