Course Description

Elasticsearch is a popular open-source technology that allows you to quickly build and deploy robust and efficient search engines. This course, Searching and Analyzing Data with Elasticsearch: How to Get Started, will introduce you to Elasticsearch. You'll learn the fundamental building blocks of search algorithms and the data structure that underpins every search engine. You'll learn how to set up and maintain a single node server. Next, you will be able to index and update the documents you wish to search. Then, you can run a variety search queries to find insights in your data. The TF/IDF algorithm is used to rank and determine the relevance of documents for each search term. You'll also learn about Elasticsearch's handling of a range of searches such as term queries, compound queries and filters. Analytical queries will also be run on data subsets that have been specified by search terms. You will be able to use Elasticsearch in your daily life by the end of the course.

Skills You Will Gain

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, you'll have the necessary knowledge to utilize Elasticsearch in practice

Finally, you'll learn how Elasticsearch handles a variety of searches, such as full-text queries, term queries, compound queries, and filters

First, you'll cover how to install and set up a single node server, index and update documents whose contents you want to search, perform a variety of search queries on these document contents, and run analysis to extract insights from your data

Learning the basic building blocks of search algorithms, and how the basic data structure at the heart of every search engine works

Next, you'll explore the TF/IDF algorithm for search ranking and relevance, and the important factors which determine how a document is scored for every search term

You'll also run analytical queries on interesting data subsets specified by search terms
