Course Description

SharePoint 2013 has made a significant change to the workflow architecture. Azure Workflow Services now handles workflow, in both hosted and on-premise deployments. This course will teach students how to create custom workflows with SharePoint Designer 2013 or Visual Studio 2012, as well as the new capabilities in SharePoint 2013 workflows (dynamic values, stages, and remote web service calls). Students will learn how to interact and consume external data sources, as well as how they can create a custom.NET Assembly Connector. Students will also learn how create BCS-enabled SharePoint Apps, some of the new remote callout support, and how to use the client-side object modeling to interact with BCS. In previous versions of SharePoint, there were several search options between SharePoint search and FAST. SharePoint 2013 merged all of the search implementations into one, powerful, and robust search architecture that can be used in both server-side and client side. This course will teach students about the search architecture and how to use it in custom solutions.
