XMPP, an open-source instant messaging platform, is used to send and receive notifications between servers and people. It can be used to send administrative notifications to your website, or to push notifications directly to subscribers. This is a much better alternative to current poll-based solutions like RSS. This course will show you how to use XMPP in Ruby.
