Course Description

Cloud-based installations have advantages over traditional on-premise installations, but they are not necessarily cheaper. Financially, cloud-based installations offer benefits like the pay-as-you-go billing model and the ability to increase capacity as needed. There are two types of billing accounts available: invoiced and self-serve. The Google IAM service has different billing roles to control access to billing information. The GCP billing console, accessible through the web interface or the gcloud command-line utility, allows users to track costs, payment history, transactions, and cost trends. It also enables exporting billing information to Cloud Storage buckets and BigQuery for advanced billing-related queries. BigQuery can be used with Data Studio to analyze resource usage and spending. This course teaches how to set up access control for billing APIs and create programmatic budget alerts using Cloud Functions and Pub/Sub.
