Do you find the idea of using After Effects to create animated graphics in your video a little daunting?
You don't need After Effects? I have a solution for you. It's called Keynote.
Yes, that Keynote. It's the one that was used to create slide presentations on a MacBook, iMac or iMac. But now, we'll be using it for creating animations.
This class is for BEGINNERS to Keynote and teaches you basic skills to create ANIMATED VIDEO OVERLAYS.
As our example, we will use the LOWER THIRD graphic. However, you could use many of the same techniques to create animated graphics such as captions or sidebars using pop-up stickers graphics.
I will be covering the following skills:
- Editing and adding shapes and text
- Using shape masks to add photos
- Add Build in, Build out, and Action animations
- You can adjust animation settings such as duration and time delays to layer multiple animations and create complex sequences
- Exporting keynote files to be used in video editing programs
CLASS REQUIREMENTS
- Keynote should only be used on a MacBook or iMac. This class is not for mobile users of Keynote.
- To use your video footage in class, you will need to have it. This footage can be recorded with your phone or camera, or you can download stock footage from sites like pixels.com
OPTIONAL: In case you need to make notes or duplicate certain processes, you might want to keep a pen and paper on hand.
