EAL: English Language for Nature Conservation and Sustainability

Most major academic English exams, such as IELTS and TOEFL, include themes about conservation and sustainability. This course is four weeks long and will prepare you to read, listen, write, and speak about these topics.

The language and vocabulary you will learn are closely related to the important topics of sustainability and conservation biology. To expand your knowledge and to help you learn more about the English language, you will explore New Zealand's unique fauna and flora.

You'll be guided by Dr. Ray Genet from the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. He is a specialist in teaching lessons about conserving biodiversity.

This course will improve your English language skills and help you to respond to different language formats. As you read academic and spoken texts, you'll improve your reading, vocabulary and pronunciation. New Zealand's isolation from the rest has allowed its wildlife to develop in unique ways. The increase in humans has led to an increase in pests.
