Course Description

This Revit tutorial will show you how to use trusses in Revit. We will start with the basics, and then explore how to draw and manipulate truss family families from Revit's library. We will learn how to adjust parameters such as the truss height and structural members, panel width, and even the rotation angle of each member. Next, we will create a static truss type using the structural truss template. Learn how to draw web members and top and bottom chords. You will also learn how to properly load your truss into the project environment. After we have become familiar with the basic truss family we will learn how to use formulas and constraints to create parametric trusses that we can manipulate and bend. This Revit training will teach you how to work with truss family and parametric modeling techniques to create customizable Trusses that can be used in future projects. Software required: Revit 2015.

Skills You Will Gain

What You Will Learn

By the end of this Revit training you'll know how to work with truss families, as well as be able to use parametric modeling techniques to create customizable trusses for use in future projects

Learn how to adjust such parameters as truss height, structural members, panel width and even the rotation angle for each member

Next we'll create a simple, static truss family type in the structural truss family template

Once we've become comfortable with the simple truss family, we'll take it one step further and learn how to work with constraints and formulas to create a parametric truss that we can manipulate and flex

Software required Revit 2015

We'll also cover how to set up your truss so that it loads into the project environment properly

We'll learn how to draw top and bottom chords as well as web members
