Course Description

Unity has enhanced their 2D components by using bone animation for sprites. This includes the use of inverse-kinematics devices. You need to be able to set up characters in order to allow them to move around the environment. This course, Rigging 2D Characters in Unity Using IK will teach you how to make sure your character's feet don't touch the ground when it is being controlled by another player. You will first learn how to build a 2D character using sprites. Next, you'll set up the sprites so that nones can control them. Next, you'll learn how to combine particle systems with sprites. You will also learn how to create small rigging elements of your own to drive objects beyond the character's hierarchy. Finally, you will keyframe a 2D character walk cycle that dynamically adjusts its steps to undulating terrain. After completing this course, your knowledge and skills will allow you to create a 2D Inverse Kinematics rig on your own. Unity is required.

Skills You Will Gain

What You Will Learn

Finally, you will explore how to create a handful of small rigging components of your own to drive objects outside the character's hierarchy, and keyframe a 2d character walk cycle that dynamically adapts its footsteps to undulating terrain

Next, you will discover how to integrate particle systems with sprites

Software required Unity

When you’re finished with this course, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to adapt these concepts to creating a 2D Inverse kinematics rig of your own

You will learn how to assemble a 2D character from sprites, and set up those sprites to be controlled by nones
