A 3D Character Artist uses anatomical limbs, finished textures, and a framework that can be rigged to take 2D images or scans of live action and turn them into 3D characters. These elements must fit seamlessly into the footage for the final product to be credible. They work with art directors and other creative specialists to refine the image of the characters.

Major educational qualifications required for 3D Character Artist are:

  • Certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • 3D artists in medical illustration must have a working knowledge of biology.
