Process improvement specialists are responsible of identifying and implementing procedures for their organizations employing engineering methods. They are responsible for tasks related to manufacturing design, production construction and design, and their primary responsibility is working with other engineers in identifying problems with efficiency and quality during the manufacturing process. Process improvement engineers are also involved in meetings and make suggestions regarding changes that can improve quality and efficiency. An undergraduate degree from engineering or another related field is necessary for this position. Additionally, prior work experience with a quality improvement or Quality assurance role - and the industry's certifications are preferred. Process improvement engineers should have an excellent ability to communicate with suppliers and partners and assist in the implementation of corrections as needed. They must have experience in manufacturing and engineering concepts, and also be able to operate machinery for production.
