Managers of strategic partnerships are accountable to maintain and develop relations with business partners, while creating strategies to boost the revenue of their businesses. They are employed mostly by large corporations as well as educational institutions and non-profit organizations. While they typically work on their own however, they can also work as the director of a department of strategic partnership.
The people in this position are responsible for various responsibilities that are, in certain positions, can change on a regular schedule. They are responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships, and creating policies that allow partnerships to flourish and identifying opportunities for new partnerships; enhancing existing collaborations and relationships by attending workshops, building network of professionals; enforce legally binding contracts; interpreting the laws in contracts for senior management and monitoring changes to laws and regulations; preparing and implementing plans to grow strategically conducting market research; analyzing reports on business metrics and contract negotiations with strategic partners and attending meetings as representatives for their companies.
A bachelor's degree in business, administration/management, communications, or a related field is generally required for this position, and applicants should be strategic thinkers with amiable personalities, positive outlooks, and expert communication skills. Skills for organization and the ability to adapt quickly in a hectic work environment are also essential.
