Medical physicists are employed in the departments for radiation and oncology in medical facilities. They also do clinical, administrative, and supervisory duties. They also offer technical assistance on the physics behind equipment that produces radiation, performance testing and commissioning, as well as radiation security and protection. There is a lot of interaction with other departments within the hospital, and with other medical centers completely equipped with the full range of physics equipment, including beam scanners as well as IMRT testing instruments.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and working with colleagues, and possess basic computer skills as well as outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Quality assurance and safety : Conduct quality assurance procedures and safety checks, including equipment safety interlocks, radiation shielding calculations, and patient dose monitoring, to ensure that the highest standards of safety and accuracy are maintained.
  • Research and development : Contribute to research and development of new technologies and techniques in medical physics, including image-guided radiation therapy and treatment planning optimization, to continually improve the delivery of radiation therapy.
