The duties of a retail manager differ based upon the dimensions of the shop. In many cases, managers of smaller stores are able to take on a greater scope of duties than managers of larger ones. Small-sized stores' managers typically manage inventory and decide on prices. In some instances they also have the responsibility of deciding when inventory is put to sale. Retail stores with large sizes typically are equipped with computers to track their inventory but do not have a lot of control over pricing or sales.
