A computer software/hardware architect is deeply involved in the development and design of new software or hardware. Typically, positions require at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and employers often may require a master’s degree. A minimum of five years experience in a related field is required, while some positions ask for as much as 15 to 20 years.
