Configuration Management and the Cloud

This course will teach you how to automate managing a fleet of computers. This course will teach you how to automate tasks such as deploying new computers, updating them, managing large-scale changes and much more. We will discuss how to manage both physical machines in our offices as well as virtual machines in the Cloud.

We will start with configuration management, an automation technique that allows you to manage the configuration of your computers at scale. You'll be learning how to use Puppet which is the industry standard for configuration management. Let's start with some basic examples and see how the concepts can be applied to more complicated cases. In no time, you'll be a Puppet master! You'll be able to automate your infrastructure by learning how to use the Cloud. This course will teach you how to manage hundreds of virtual machines in the Cloud, and how to troubleshoot them when they don't work as planned.
