Course Description

FPS (first person shooter) games are a popular genre today. This course will teach you how to use Unity to create an FPS game from scratch.
This course is for those who have a basic understanding of Unity's game engine (such as familiarity with Inspector and the ability to navigate scene view). This video will teach you how to create your own FPS games.

  • Learn how to create a complete FPS using the Unity game engine
  • Create the environment, weapons, first-person controller
  • Learn how to create an AI enemy who can attack the player
  • Learn about level design, respawning, power-ups and health boosts.
  • Understanding the Unity remote, mobile controls and adding explosions to your Unity remote.
  • Create a game that you can modify and then add to later.

Jon Manning is co-founder of Secret Lab. Here he creates games and does research. He has written more than a dozen technical books for O'Reilly Media. He also wrote two games for ABC Australia's children's series Play School and one to Qantas Airways. He is currently working on Button Squid for iOS. He enjoys making cool tools for other developers.
