Course Description

Decentralised finance (DeFi), is changing the future in banking and finance. DeFi does not need to rely on traditional financial institutions. Instead, it can be done using blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies like Ethereum. This course will help you understand decentralised finance and the differences it has from traditional finance. It can also show you how you can be a step ahead of your peers in the future. In 2008, the first blockchain was created. Since then, cryptocurrencies have grown in popularity. This course will provide an in-depth overview of Decentralised Finance (DeFi), protocols and cryptocurrencies, decentralised trades, cryptocurrency wallets, and the variety of DeFi applications. Learn about Ethereum wallets, which allow you to interact with your Ethereum accounts. You'll learn about everything from derivatives and exchanges to payments, insurance, and how decentralizing finance can make the world more efficient and fair. These areas will also be covered in detail by blockchain. An inter-disciplinary team of RMIT University researchers will lead the course. They are known for their cutting-edge research and engagement with technology and business. The course will give you a better understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and DeFi. These emerging technologies and policies will also help you understand the future of finance. You can preview some of the steps in this course before you sign up.
