Course Description

Kubernetes clusters can be run on the cloud using a variety technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and GCE Compute Engine Virtual Machine instance. This can be quite complicated. Understanding the basic building blocks of Kubernetes such as pods and nodes, as well as how they relate to Docker's fundamental building blocks, containers, will be easy. Pods and ReplicaSets are the core Kubernetes concepts. You will also learn how to manage and scale clusters with the Horizontal Pod Autoscaler. Additionally, you'll learn about StatefulSets (and DaemonSets) on the GKE. Finally, you'll explore how to share state using volume abstractions and respond to user requests using service or ingress objects. This course will show you how custom Docker images can be built and placed in Google Container Registry. You'll also learn about binary authorization.
