Course Description

English for Business and Entrepreneurship is a University of Pennsylvania course that was funded by U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Office of English Language Programs. Click on "Enroll Nowa" to enroll and select the full course. There is no certificate.

The course is for English-speaking non-native speakers interested in the global economy. This course will teach you the language and topics necessary for success in international business. Through authentic readings and videos, you will learn about the basics of business English and discuss concepts and issues. The first unit will introduce entrepreneurship through the examination of ideas, products and potential opportunities. Unit 2 will teach you the fundamentals of market research and how to find an opportunity. Next, you will learn about business plans and why they are so important. You will also have the opportunity to create a business plan. The final section of the course will cover funding basics and help you to create persuasive presentations, also known as pitches, that are based upon a business plan.
