Course Description

Learn more about image analysis and how it is used in plant phenotyping

This six-week course at the University of Nottingham will teach you the basics of image analysis and how it applies to plant phenotyping.

You'll learn how to use image technologies to collect data and perform detailed analyses. You will be able to extract meaningful information out of image data without causing any damage to the subjects of your research by the end of this course.

Learn how to use Python programming in Fiji for data analysis

Fiji, also known by ImageJ, will help you develop your skills.

Your educators will teach you how to use Python to perform simple imaging tasks. You'll start with Python basics like for and while loops and then move on to setting pixel values or dilating regions in the code.

Learn how to use image segmentsation and noise reduction in image processing

Image processing and analysis is revolutionizing bioscience. However, there are still significant obstacles and bottlenecks that need to be overcome. Image quality is one of these constant challenges.

This course will teach you how to reduce noise and remove it, segmentation and filtering. You will also learn how to reconstruct 3D images, motion video, and other data to find meaningful information.

Learn from the University of Nottingham's experts

The University of Nottingham's educators are experts in their fields, and have developed novel methods for image analysis and plant phenotyping.

You'll be able to continue the evolution in plant phenotyping via image analysis with their professional guidance and insight.
