This series of lessons will provide an in-depth look at Mudbox. It is a powerful tool for texture painting and sculpting. We will begin by looking at the Mudbox interface, and then we'll discuss the basics of using Mudbox to create geometry. We will discuss how to get geometry into Mudbox and how to transform it around the scene. Finally, we'll subdivide it for sculpture. As we go along, we'll use a project-based approach to create an action figures complete with packaging. We will also cover the sculpting tools and painting. We will discuss how to modify the properties of our tools to achieve different results, and how to use stamps and stencils for various looks. To add detail quickly, we'll use sculpt layers. We will also create a Vector Displacement Map that can be used to quickly duplicate sculpted detail. We will cover some Mudbox presentation features and then move on to painting textures. We will cover Mudbox's paint layers functionality and show you how to project details from images onto your models. We will also discuss features such as retopologizing meshes and the Pose tools.
