Course Description

Once you have a solid understanding of how to create a custom Alexa skill, it will be possible to publish your program and integrate with other Voice User Interfaces (VUI) applications. This series will teach you how to create an Alexa skill called "Hello Codecademy". The interaction model and Amazon Lambda function will be built. This function responds to the user's voice by sending a personalized welcome message. Although JavaScript is not required for this course, it will help you to understand the programming logic. Amazon Alexa has released a new version the Amazon Alexa SDK. This series teaches the older version of the Alexa SDK. These courses will be updated over the next few months. Although there are not many changes between versions, we recommend that you take these courses and then go to GitHub to learn more about the latest Alexa SDK version.
