Course Description

The broad and interconnected fields of nanotechnology and nanosensors include (bio)chemistry and physics as well as biology and materials science. This course will cover the basic principles of nanotechnology, nanomaterials, and how they can be used to create new sensing properties. This course will cover interesting interdisciplinarity in engineering and science at the nanoscale. It will also discuss fundamental physical differences between nanosensors. Students will be able to understand how nanosensors can be used for novel applications and the techniques involved in their fabrication and characterization. Also, students will apply their knowledge of nanotechnology and nanosensors to a topic of personal interest in this course.
