Course Description

This online course will teach SketchUp Free, also known as sketchUp for Web. Starting at the basic level, you will move on to the advanced. This curriculum has been carefully designed to teach SketchUp in the most efficient and effective manner. In less that 7 hours you will be able master all the tools and use them to create a house design.

What you'll learn

This online course will teach you many things. It is impossible to list all of them in this description text. Scroll down to the curriculum section to see all the details. Here's a quick summary. This online course is divided into 9 chapters, with the exception of the introduction chapter.

The interface of SketchUp Free and its basic features will be explained in the first chapter. Learn how to import 3D models from 3D Warehouse. Next, you will learn how to navigate and use different types "views". Next, you will learn how to use "scenes". Next, we'll discuss how to modify the appearance of 3D models using "Styles". Then, we'll discuss different commands that can be used to modify files. Learn how to create a custom shortcut.

The second chapter will cover basic 3D modeling techniques. We will start by learning about the line tool. Next, we'll discuss the concepts and features that SketchUp offers in "inference". The "Rectangle” tool will be discussed next. The "push-pull", one of SketchUp's most important tools, will be discussed next. We will also discuss different object selection techniques in this chapter. Techniques for deleting objects. We will also discuss how to use the offset tool.

The third chapter is a "practice" chapter. We will first model a "planterbox" object. Next, create a 3D model for a cabinet. Then, we will attempt to create a 3D model of a pet home.

The fourth chapter will be about object manipulation and object management in SketchUp Free. This chapter will cover many topics. We will be discussing object transformation from the basics to the more advanced. Next, you will learn how to use tags to manage 3D objects faster and easier. Next, you'll learn about duplication techniques. Next, you will learn how to group objects using either the "group" or "component" methods.

We will be discussing advanced modeling techniques in the fifth chapter. Learn how to use the "rotated rectangle". You will learn the basics of the "circle", and "polygon", tools. Learn the concepts and techniques for smoothing 3D object surfaces. Next, you'll learn how to use both the "Freehand", and the "Arc", tools. Create 3D text objects. Finally, you will learn how to use the "follow-me" tool.

The sixth chapter is dedicated to 3D modeling exercises. We will use the advanced techniques we have discussed earlier. We will begin by modeling a coffeetable. Next, we will model a gate. Next, learn how to create a "square-shaped pillar". Next, we'll discuss the techniques to create a double-sided doors. First, make the door frame. Next, make the leaf. Then, we'll make the doorknob. Next, we'll show you how to model books. Chapter six concludes with the creation of a stairway and its railing. The simplest and most effective way to define stair steps is by using a computer program.

The seventh chapter discusses measurement and annotation techniques. This chapter will teach you how to use the "Tape Measure" tool and then the "protractor". Next, you'll learn how to assign labels. Next, we will cover how to create cutouts from our 3D model with the "section plane". Finally, you'll learn how to create custom axes.

Chapter eight will teach you how to use textures and materials. You will learn how to create your own textures and materials in SketchUp. We will then discuss different methods of manipulating textures already attached to 3D object surfaces. We will discuss both flat and curved surfaces.

The ninth chapter is the final. The final project, which is a house, will be created. We will start by importing the reference photo. Next, model the walls. Add doors and windows. Next, create the floor, the area around it, and the carport. The roof will be double-stacking. Next, create a large canopy to cover the terrace and carport. The final step is to add ornaments to the house facade. If you follow this course, you'll be able to create a 3D house model from start-to-finish in sha Allah.

Don't wait! Take this online course to improve your skills in the Architectural field.
