Course Description

It is quick and easy to add detail to your final textures by projecting photos onto your models. We will use a project-based approach to show you some techniques you can use as a texture artist on any project you are working on within MARI. After creating our project and uploading images, we'll learn how to quickly project an object onto our model with MARI's Paint Through tool. Every image will not be perfect for the mesh we are projecting onto so we will focus next on how to transform the projected image or paint before it gets baked into the texture. We'll be discussing the pitfalls of projecting images as well as how to account for projection masking. The course will also cover many other useful tips and tricks for texture artists, such as mirroring textures from one model to another and color correction. This course fully utilizes MARI 2.0's layer-based workflow. You will have a fully-textured asset with color, specular, and bump maps after this course. Additionally, you will have new tricks to use in your own texturing projects. MARI 2.5v1 is required.
