Course Description

This series of lessons will teach you how to use Softimage's Lagoa Multiphysics system to create dynamic simulations. We can use Lagoa to give our particle clouds physical properties, and then solve our scene with a variety of physics algorithms. This project will teach us how to create Lagoa simulations with the Create menu presets. Then, we will learn the four main components of an Lagoa ICE-tree. Then, we will learn about the accuracy and force settings that can be used to control our simulation. The Lagoa Main Materials will be our next focus. As different settings can result in completely different appearances and particle interactions, we spend many lessons dissecting each aspect of this material. Then, we will learn how to work with Lagoa in Softimage. This includes viewing the ICE cache and creating a mesh around the particles. We also use the Polygonizer and the Lagoa Fluid Shaper. We will also learn how to use Cached Sim Post Effects in order to change our particle cloud without having to re-simulate. Softimage 2011 Subscription Advantage Package and above are required.
