Course Description

While most people have experience with client operating systems like Windows 10, the IT networking industry requires extensive knowledge of "server" operating system. Although Windows servers may look very similar to Windows clients, there are some key differences. This course, Windows Server Administration Concepts Basics and Installationation, will teach you how to install and configure Windows Server. You will first learn about Windows Server's multiple editions, licensing and servicing channels. Next, you will choose between Server Core or Desktop Edition versions. Next you'll learn about how Windows Server is installed. This includes upgrades and clean installs as well as interactive and automated installations. Finally, you'll learn how to migrate server roles and user settings from older systems to newer ones. You will also learn how to set up server hardware using the appropriate device drivers. Finally, you'll be able to troubleshoot and maintain them over time. After completing this course, your knowledge will allow you to install and configure Windows Server operating system. You'll also be able to explore server roles, storage, performance, maintenance, and more in subsequent courses. This course aligns with the Microsoft Technology Associate certification track (exam 99-365).
