Course Description

This series of lessons will show you how to render your Maya scene in multiple passes. We also demonstrate advanced techniques for composing these passes with NUKE. The first part of this course will be dedicated to rendering Maya scenes into multiple passes. This allows us to seperate different elements at render time. To create render passes for our scene, we will use mental Ray's render passes and contribute maps. We also use custom framebuffers and render layers. The second part of the course will cover basic compositing. It is similar to our Multichannel Compositing in NuKE course. However, we will soon move on to more advanced topics like depth-of-field and depth-based composition, working with HDR data and painting fixes. Maya 2009 or NUKE 5.2 required.
