This class is for anyone who wants to control the look and feel their motion design. This class is easy to follow, regardless of whether you have been using After Effects for years or just started learning it. I will teach you how to ease in and out of every bit of motion that you create and help you create an aesthetic that will make you work stand out from the rest.

Class Outline
- Easy Animation. Jake will show you how to use After Effects to control your animations and create a polished end result. Jake's class is for animators of all levels.
- Making your own. After you have completed this animation course, you will be asked to create your own animated house using the tools and shortcuts Jake has shown you. Jake will ask you to send him screenshots of your work as soon as you submit your file. This will allow Jake to evaluate not only your final animation but also your organization and process skills. You can ask questions at any time. Jake will monitor the "ask me any" discussion board to ensure that you have a direct line to him if you get stuck.
- Learn your toolkit. After Effects' speed and value graphs will be explained to you and how to make them work for your benefit. Jake will also share workflow tips and keyboard shortcuts to make animation more fun and efficient.
- Step-by-step instructions. Jake will show you how to simplify complex designs into manageable pieces. You will learn how to convert a design from Adobe Illustrator into After Effects and how to approach it as a collection of parts that can be animated individually.
- Preparing for animation. Learn how to separate design objects into layers, then combine multiple layers to create better, more controlled animated movements.
- Laying out your objects. Jake will show you how to use your original artwork to guide you in lining up your layers and keeping them organized. You will also learn keystrokes that will save you time, whether you are creating animated.gif files at work, face animation, or game animation.
- Graph Editor. Jake will demonstrate in a clear and concise demonstration how he uses After Effects' graph editor to control, customize, and smoothen his animation. These animation classes will teach you how to manipulate keyframes and adjust the speed of their movements. You can also influence the movement of the frames over time.
- Working with graphs and anchor points. Anchor points will be used to animate objects using the scale property. Jake will also discuss how graphs can be used to create complex designs with multiple layers.
- Looping and animating your design. You'll be able to create unlimited designs and customize the timing and order of your layers' animations. Jake will walk you through creating a loop to make your work as fun to watch as it build up.
- How to create a.gif. Jake explains how to export your work from After Effects. He shows you how to save it as a Quicktime file, or how to photostitch it into a GIF. He will also share key troubleshooting tips for cleaning your work so that it displays correctly no matter where you place it.
