A guide to electronics to help you get the most out of your Arduino or other prototyping device
About This Video
Learn more about diodes and electrical concepts
Calculate voltage, current, and resistance
Use resistors, capacitors, and transistors
You are not the only one. Are you an Arduino maker who can follow how-to guides, is confident in writing or modifying sketches, but not confident about calculating transistor currents, voltage drops, and using capacitors to filter? Since years, I have been teaching Raspberry Pi and Arduino topics. These platforms are great for getting you started with electronics. However, you won't be able to fully enjoy their power until your basic electronics knowledge is solidified. This is why I created this course. This course is designed to help you understand the basics of electronics and the components that are used in making platforms like the Raspberry Pi and Arduino. This course is for anyone who has a basic understanding and has been tinkering around with Arduinos. You will be able to use common components in Arduino projects by the end of this course. Additionally, you will learn how to calculate and measure the appropriate components to select the right ones for your projects.
You will need some common and inexpensive components and tools to complete this course: resistors and capacitors, transistors and transistors, LEDs, diodes and batteries. A multimeter, small breadboard, and jumper wires are also required. These are likely items you already have.
